OUR HISTORY

Eric Suder, founder of the Suder Foundation, is also the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Estech Systems, Inc., based in Plano, Texas.

The success of ESI made it possible for Suder to begin or become involved with a number of philanthropic programs — including the ESI Humanitarian Relief Fund.  This project originally was a response to the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami, but eventually grew into a more general effort aimed at helping the victims of disasters ranging from Hurricane Katrina to earthquakes in Asia.

ESI is a frequent contributor to various fund-raising efforts to fight cancer, and sponsors the arts through support of the world-famous Dallas Symphony. Other deserving organizations that have benefited from ESI’s generosity include Habitat for Humanity, the Collin County Children’s Advocacy Center, Shared Housing, and Dallas Social Venture Partners.

Another of Suder’s key interests has been helping less advantaged students better themselves through higher education. Suder has funded endowments to the University of Texas and his alma mater, West Virginia University, enabling these institutions to provide 10 scholarships each year to deserving students with financial need. He also funds direct scholarships for selected children of ESI employees.

Learning more about the particular challenges of first-generation college students led to his creation, in 2008, of the Suder Foundation and Suder Scholars Program.
